Intelligent Mobile Robots Drive New Breakthroughs in Smart Logistics for Automotive Parts Manufacturers

PREFACE
Against the backdrop of a new wave of consumption upgrades, diverse industries are facing increasingly urgent demands for personalized and flexible production. Recently, Myten Tech provided an automotive parts manufacturer with a one-stop intelligent manufacturing and smart logistics solution. This initiative helps the enterprise swiftly adapt to market and production fluctuations, achieving higher efficiency in manufacturing capabilities.

Industry Analysis

The automotive industry is a typical discrete manufacturing sector characterized by a highly fragmented supply chain, complex production processes, numerous operational steps, and precision product structures. As an automotive parts manufacturer, our client faces multiple challenges: production lines often accumulate raw materials and finished goods due to untimely material call signals, the operational environment is complex with stringent safety requirements, and dispersed workshop layouts make manual handling inefficient. These factors create difficulties in shop-floor management, warehouse planning, and equipment coordination across the manufacturing process.

Challenges

  1. High Labor Costs
Continuous 24/7 operation requires significant manual labor, resulting in persistently high labor expenses.

  2. High Work Intensity
Rapid production cycles with tightly linked processes, coupled with stringent safety requirements.

  3. Inventory Management Issues
Lack of real-time material information synchronization leads to ineffective control and oversight.

Solution

Following an on-site survey and considering the client’s product requirements, we selected handling forklifts as the solution. With a load capacity of 3,000 kg, they efficiently meet the material handling needs of automotive component production plants while supporting 24/7 non-stop operation. The system automatically transports finished goods from one process to the next based on real-time production status. On the software side, a dispatch system integrates multiple devices: each workstation is equipped with status detection and manual call buttons, and the system interfaces with onsite cranes to implement coordinated traffic control between AGVs and crane operations.
