With the rapid development of information technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, and mobile applications, the “robotic replacement of human labor” is progressively being implemented in the manufacturing sector. Consequently, AGVs have entered a phase of rapid development. As a core component of AGVs, the reliability and stability of the controller directly impact the overall dependability of AGV products.
The universal controller ECO400 serves as a core motion controller for mobile robots and embodies “universal” and “open-source” principles. We provide secondary development code with it, enabling it to meet the motion control needs of all mobile robot types, from industrial and service robots to specialized models. Our design employs industrial-grade chips, achieves highly modular integration, incorporates a rich set of peripheral interfaces, and prioritizes rapid deployment.
While the mobile robot industry is advancing rapidly, practical implementation still faces several unresolved challenges, such as inadequate perception, difficulties with charging and battery endurance, and communication barriers. The universal controller ECO400 is specifically designed for mobile robots and addresses the following six core issues:
Navigation Challenge: Autonomous navigation capability compatible with SLAM navigation, reflector navigation, and QR code navigation.
Motion Control Challenge: Supports autonomous obstacle avoidance mode, line-following mode, and hybrid obstacle avoidance/line-following mode.
Autonomous Charging Challenge: Features built-in autonomous charging functionality.
Safety Protection Challenge: Integrates 3D vision protection/obstacle recognition, laser obstacle avoidance, ultrasonic sensors, photoelectric sensors, and mechanical bumpers.
Communication Challenge: Supports external Wi-Fi, 4G, and 5G communication modules.
Development Challenge: Universal controller with an open-source ecosystem, supporting secondary development at low cost.
In addition to addressing the six core challenges, the ECO400 universal controller also offers the following key features:
Simplicity: Industrial-grade design integrating multiple functions;
Ease of Use: Plug-and-play operation, compatible with mainstream domestic and international sensors;
Open Source: Code is open source, with secondary development demos provided;
Convenience: Supports multiple programming languages;
Complete Suite: Fully equipped with PC operation software, mobile APP, and dispatch system;
Certification: CE certified;
Support Services: Comprehensive technical support including complimentary training and trial periods.
In addition to the newly released universal controller, our earlier series of framework-based embedded controllers, designed for specific application scenarios, feature millimeter-level positioning accuracy and employ various dynamic planning methods for flexible obstacle avoidance. They provide point-to-point autonomous path planning and obstacle avoidance capabilities.
This controller series has been validated through over a hundred real-world projects, spanning industries such as photovoltaics, pharmaceuticals, food, automotive, 3C electronics, military explosion-proof applications, apparel, and home appliances.
Currently, the cumulative shipments of these related controller products have exceeded 500 units, with a customer repurchase rate of over 75%. They have been extensively validated in diverse end-user project scenarios and through customer-led secondary development.
